Like many therapists and bodyworkers, Aaron was drawn into the field by his own personal experience with injury and chronic pain. A back injury which required major spine surgery and months of physical therapy compelled him to find ways to manage his own chronic pain, and consequently, the chronic pain of others.
Now with over six years of experience in bodywork and manual therapies, he has helped clients with conditions ranging from minor joint injuries to cerebral palsy improve musculoskeletal function and manage pain.
When many people think of massage two images tend to come to mind. One being of blissful babbling brook music, scented candles, and soothing strokes from the therapist relaxing sore muscles and relieving tension brought on by trials and tribulations of life; a moment of peace and escape ? much like the ? Calgon, Take me away!? commercials that have made bubble baths so popular. The other being a ?search and destroy? experience where the therapist pulverizes the body, digging his or her elbows and thumbs into muscles shouting, ?Breathe through the pain! Pain is good; it means it?s working!?
These images may seem extreme, but too often I?ve heard people describe their massage experiences as, ?it felt great and I was relaxed, but my shoulder still hurts?, or ?I thought she was going to pierce an organ! The back pain was gone for a day or two, but came back twice as bad.? Sadly some people have settled for these two options, but many others are looking for more. There must be another way!
So what is Balanced Bodywork? Balanced Bodywork strives to go beyond typical massage therapy and provide a comprehensive system of manual therapies that elicit effective, long lasting pain management and relief customized to every client?s individual needs. Just think. Therapy that actually works!

Relaxation-Rejuvenation Therapy: Takes ?Swedish? massage techniques to a new level, applying the tools of gliding, lifting and kneading, compression, and percussion to specific areas of the body eliciting relaxation in tight bunched up tissue and rejuvenation weak strained tissue.
Neuromuscular-Proprioceptive Therapy: Diving deeper than ?deep tissue? or ?knot busting? massage, applying the tools of friction and ischemic compression to elicit a true neurological response from the proprioceptive structures in the deeper layers of tendons and ligaments.
Facilitated Stretch-Body Mobilization Therapy: Stepping beyond sports massage, using bones as levers and the body?s innate stretch response to allow for opening of joint space, increased range of motion, and ideal structural alignment.
